Privacy Notice

beyng.com does not collect any personal information about its users. Through the web hosting company's services we have access to typical web servers logs with the requests and the IP address of your browser. We do not request any information from visitors and so have no need to store it. The only knowledge we get from users is when they email us, or we meet face-to-face.

Pages on beyng.com contain information about books, and other media, including links to items on Amazon. Typically, a picture of the book cover is linked to that book on Amazon. The links are there principally as a convenience, and not our endorsement of the product. If you purchase a product on Amazon after clicking on a link on beyng.com, we will be compensated by Amazon. Around 2000, the annual returns from Amazon roughly matched the cost of hosting the web site, which was sweet, but that revenue stream dwindled over the years and provides less than 10% of our hosting cost. Publishers send us review books but that is not connected with Amazon.

A small fraction of the pages on beyng.com may contain links to Google web pages or ads from Google. This is principally experimental, and provides us with access to analytic information about beyng.com from Google. About a dozen pages on the site have ads. We do not get revenue from YouTube videos embedded on beyng.com. The Google Ads revenue is less than 1% of our hosting cost.

A small fraction of the pages on beyng.com may contain widgets from Amazon, Google, Microsoft Bing, or Microsoft Clarity. We added them because we thought they are useful. Use at your own risk. The analytic information about beyng.com from web search services helps us understand how folks use beyng.com.

To ensure privacy with your requests and this web site's responses beyng.com supports Secure Sockets Layer (HTTPS). We recommend you use https with beyng.com and when sharing links with others. Like this: https://www.beyng.com/.

California Consumer Privacy Act: this site does not restrict data processing. As I understand it, that means that ads may be selected based on the content of the page they appear on, rather than being random.

If you see an ad on this site you think is objectionable, let us know. We have some mechanisms to control the types on ads shown. I don't normally see the ads because we block ad servers in our router.
