Aus der Erfahrung des Denkens

The Thinker as Poet

These poems and aphorisms were written at the cabin in Todtnauberg in 1947 and published in 1954. Heidegger originally jotted them down as a form of therapy after his nervous breakdown at the end of 1946. They are impressions from the experience of thinking. They are both an attempt to answer the address of being and an exploration of the nearness of thinking and poetry.
